Why We Do What We Do

Rheology is arguably one of the most powerful tools in materials science, yet it remains one of the most underutilized. Although rheological measurements somehow reveal how materials are structured, processed, and perform, their interpretation is often mathematically demanding, time-consuming, and largely confined to specialists.

Our mission is to unlock the full potential of rheology by making it a practical, quantitative tool for material innovation. We believe that rheological knowledge should be accessible to every scientist and engineer involved in developing materials, designing products, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring product quality. Rheology should become as routinely useful as microscopy, spectroscopy, or mechanical testing.

IRIS Rheology was created by Professor H. Henning Winter and his collaborators to fulfill this mission. By transforming complex experimental data into meaningful material parameters, predictive models, and intuitive visualizations, IRIS enables users to understand, communicate, and apply rheological knowledge with confidence.
